Vista Dhome is a 4500-square-foot Monolithic Dome home in Yucaipa, California. It sits on the ridge of Black Mountain in the foothills of the San Bernadino Mountains. Vista Dhome was the dream home of Dr. Al and Ruth Braswell. Their son, Barry, and his wife, Kimberly, have been stewards for the last decade. The iconic home survived the 2002 Bryant Fire and was featured in local newspapers during the aftermath.

What should have been a quiet, ordinary Sunday afternoon for Ruth and Al Braswell wasn’t. Temps that dry and fateful day reached above the 100-degree mark—the perfect conditions for a brush fire.
