A Triumph of Design and Patience: The CSO Concert Hall in Ankara, Turkiye Becomes a Cultural Landmark

Turkiye’s new Presidential Symphony Orchestra (or CSO) Concert Hall in Ankara, Turkiye, officially opened in 2021 and has since hosted hundreds of performances by artists from every artistic genre and every corner of the world. It features two Monolithic Domes and has become a symbol of Turkiye’s rich and ever-evolving cultural landscape and is the country’s artistic epicenter.

The Presidential Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall and Cultural Center is a new Turkish landmark and feat of modern architecture built in the heart of Ankara. Two Monolithic Domes house two concert halls, the Main Hall, which seats 2,023 people, and the Blue Hall, which seats 512.

A colossal ellipsoid dome and its impressive spherical counterpart are juxtaposed with an imposing vaulted triangular foyer in downtown Ankara, Turkiye. This impressive and already beautiful building under construction is the new Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) building, which according to the Ankara Hürriyet, will become one of the symbols of Ankara.
