The First Monolithic Dome

The very first Monolithic Dome ever built was a potato storage, inflated on April 5, 1976, in Shelley, Idaho. The dome was 105 feet in diameter—massive for a prototype. It was built by the original founders of Monolithic, David B. South and his brothers, Barry and Randy, who were granted a patent for the Monolithic Dome construction method a few years later.
